Mat’s work is characterised by his passion for storytelling whether it’s comedy dialogue, people being people or intensely emotional drama. Mat has an innate sense of what makes comedy work and an amazing perception about how to sustain emotionally dramatic moments. Mat’s work is diverse but regardless of the content Mat strives to communicate the essence of the commercial and isolate the elements which make the idea work on the screen. Mat’s background included a stint at college studying graphic design so whilst he has a great appreciation of visual style he always maintains a balance between the story and the look.

Mat has won countless international awards over the last decade. Including Multiple New York “One show”, Cannes Lions, London International “Best Director” as well as the prestigious “Best director” two yeas running at the Clio’s awards.
Most recently Mat won the “Best Direction” at Ad fest for his TAC commercial “Haunted”.

He puts his success down to a genuine love of a good idea and the business of advertising.
Mat is always striving to improve and finesse his skills as a commercials director.
He finds collaboration immensely satisfying which always makes for memorable and successful productions.
